What is Cost of Attendance?

Every school has a Cost of Attendance (COA), which helps students understand the expense of attending college.  The COA is an estimate of direct costs (things billed directly by the university) and indirect costs (costs students generally incur while attending school).  Essentially, the COA is an estimate of the total cost to attend college. It is primarily used in the calculation of a student’s financial need.

Keep in mind that the Cost of Attendance does not account for the balance after scholarships, grants and other financial aid.  Cost of Attendance is not a bill; students are only charged for items they sign up for.  So, if you’re not living in campus housing, you will not be charged for housing, and so on.

What is Florida Tech’s Cost of attendance?

At Florida Tech, tuition for full-time undergraduate students is flat rate.  That means our tuition cost is the same if a student registers for 12-19 credit hours.  Students who enroll in less than 12 hours will be charges the per-credit-hour rate and students more than 19 credit hours will be charged the per-credit-hour rate for the additional credit hours.

Flat rate tuition charges vary by major.  To see what your cost of attendance is, click the appropriate link below:

Student Health Insurance Costs

Florida Tech requires all students enrolled in full-time curriculum to have medical insurance. Many students waive this expense by providing proof of insurance.  Students without an approved medical insurance plan are required to purchase the University’s student health insurance plan, which is due and payable with your first-semester charges. For more information, see the Student Health Insurance Program.
